"Midori is the real deal. Even if you are nervous about having your picture taken, she gets such real emotion and beauty from every subject. She is patient and kind and an absolute pleasure to work with. She did my son's high school senior photos, and I look forward to having her do our next family portrait. If you are searching for someone to take great photos for you and your family, seriously, look no further! She's wonderful!" --Susanne M.
About the Experience
What to expect?
Just be yourself and have a good time. No need to worry about posing... I'll position you and give you any necessary directions as we go. We'll do a lot of playing and chatting throughout the session, so just relax... just being yourself is all I need!
If you have specific features that you'd like me to highlight/de-emphasize, just let me know!
Special COVID practices:
I'll be using a zoom lens to allow for safe social distancing throughout the session. I'm fully vaccinated and I'm happy to wear a mask if you'd like me to as well. Should either your family or I experience any signs of illness prior to our session, we'll reschedule our session to keep all parties safe and healthy!
Getting the best out of your session...
Eep, my family's so unpredictable! How do you get them to smile?
As every parent knows, life with kids is unpredictable. Meltdowns happen. Poop happens. Teenagers (and partners... AND moms) get grumpy. The best tactic? Roll with it! It's life... and I'll be snapping away and getting awesome photos that you'll love forever, no matter what life brings us.
But most importantly... just relax! Have fun with it, and do what you do best... LOVE your family, for all of their ups and downs. If you stay relaxed and laugh it all off, that sets the tone for the session to be fun, and for our images to be amazing, no matter what happens.
Can I bring my pet or extended family members?
Sure! Your session fee* includes up to 6 loved ones. Additional people/pets can be added on for $25 each. Just let Midori know if you'd like to add people.
*For full sessions only. Mini sessions are for immediate human family members only, due to the shorter time constraints. :)
Wear transitional lenses?
Consider going glasses-less so that we can see your eyes... or pick up a cheap pair of non-transitional frames at the dollar store, if your wife thinks you look "weird" without glasses. :)
What is your pricing?
Family portrait packages range from $225-$495, and come with a variety of customizable options. To read more visit the Packages tab at the top of your screen.
Will I be required to come back for a sales session?
No... I know you're busy! I'll send you an online gallery of your photos so that you can choose your digital images, prints, and wall art whenever you catch a moment to do so...
HOWEVER... my goal is to help you get maximum enjoyment out of your images. Rather than stagnating in your "downloads" folder, I want you to treat yourself to having them on your walls so that you can SEE them and let them make you SMILE. EVERY. DAY!
If, like me, you put "treating yourself" LAST on your To Do list, I'd be happy to make an appointment to help you choose your final images and get those canvases, prints or cards ordered.
I also have a Virtual Gallery that you can use from the comfort of your own home. It lets you upload a photo of your room, and play around with different photos and different sizes on your walls. It's really cool! If you'd like that option, just ask!
What is your turnaround time?
It takes me roughly two weeks to edit and upload your photos into your viewing gallery. Any prints or products ordered from your gallery take approximately 4 weeks to arrive.
