A widow and a single mom, for two whole years I felt like we weren't a "real" family. Commissioning a professional portrait was the LAST thing on my mind until I decided to fight fire with fire. I commissioned a photo shoot with an awesome photographer (thanks Jeramie Lu!) as the first step toward living into the fact that my family had shrunk from five to two.
